How we work

All of our work is underpinned by our passion for learning (our own, our associates' and our clients'), by our understanding of human diversity as an issue which affects every person, and by our commitment to equality of access and opportunity. We see ourselves as contributors to the regeneration and development of our region, actively supporting the charity sector within it.

Our research experience is varied and we are able flexibly to combine methods including

  • methodology tailored to the project and client
  • literature reviews
  • 'desk' research by internet and telephone
  • face to face and telephone interviews (structured and semi-structured)
  • imaginatively facilitated focus groups tailored to a range of age, education and language related needs
  • surveys
  • analysis of primary and secondary statistical data using Statistics Package for Social Scientists
  • collaborative working with colleagues in other organisations

We like to work closely with our clients. We are practised at sharing our multiple skills, and seek to enable staff and/or volunteers to build the necessary skills to take things forward once our role is completed. We are good listeners, and work flexibly according to clients' needs. We orientate ourselves quickly into new situations, and provide a realistic outside perspective.

Our corporate responsibility policy gives more information about our approach to equality and diversity, health and safety, workforce development, business and research ethics, the environment and the community.
